Kinesio Taping

How does Kinesio tape work?

Kinesio tape® was designed to have the texture and elasticity that resembles living human skin. When applied, the tape has a degree of stretch and rebound that helps to facilitate muscle activation and relaxation. In cases of injury or overuse, the muscle loses its elasticity and the tape is able to assist the muscle tissue in it’s contraction or relaxation helping to prevent fatigue and overuse. Kinesio Tape® also lifts the skin microscopically allowing an increase of blood flow and lymphatic drainage to the area to allow quicker healing.

Kinesiotape allows full movement of the tissues while still offering the needed support. The specially designed tape gently lifts the skin and promotes lymphatic flow for 24 hours and increases blood flow through the tissues, increasing your recovery time drastically. It also affects the activation of the neurological system, having a positive impact on nerves, muscles and organs. Kinesio Tapiing’s revolutionary method provides muscle support while still maintaining full range of motion, allowing an athlete to continue to train and compete. Traditional taping attempts to limit range of motion, which necessarily limits an athlete’s ability to continue their regular routine. Kinesio Taping is effective, safe, and easy to use, allowing the individual to receive the therapeutic benefits 24 hours a day. With Kinesio Taping, there’s no need for complicated, restrictive taping that needs to be retaped several times a day.
