Chiropractic

At Enhance Performance Center Wellness we offer holistic, integrated healthcare for the entire family. For many, chiropractic adjustments bring the vision of back pain. Our chiropractic adjustments have a very different purpose. Specific adjustments help you release the tensions that you experience each day to enable you to reconnect with your body’s innate wisdom.

Your body is constantly receiving and storing information from its internal and external environment. If it becomes overloaded with input, the circuits will crash, much like a computer system crashes when information is fed in too quickly. Unlike the computer, however, the body’s innate wisdom can adapt and change. Instead of shutting down the entire system, the body will adapt by creating what we call a subluxation — an event that is stored in your body as tension and not released or integrated.

You probably will not notice one or two subluxations. As they start to accumulate, however, the effects become much greater and the body and the mind become progressively more rigid and inflexible. You also may start to notice symptoms in your body — the physical signs of subluxations/ imbalance.

Subluxations impede the body’s ability to adjust, self-correct and recover from stress. Our body then has a distorted perception and interpretation of it’s unique internal and external environments. The natural healing ability of the body is then diminished and we slowly become a human being locked in the past rather than one who is in the present “now” moment.

The body’s ability to adapt is so great that it will continue to function even when greatly compromised. Even more amazing is the body’s ability to heal. Given the slightest chance to improve, your body will self-correct!

Chiropractic adjustments give your system that chance to heal. Just as the subluxations in your system accumulate bit by bit in your body, regular adjustments gradually and progressively release those subluxations. With each adjustment, your system becomes better able to adapt, heal and self-correct. It gets closer to living in the “now” moment. Don’t you deserve to live your life with that ease?

If you want an opportunity to develop a real relationship with a doctor you can trust and learn a different approach to health and healing then this is the office for you.

Bilateral Nasal Specific

The Bilateral Nasal Specific technique, or BNS, is a method of re-establishing the normal alignment and function of the facial and sinus bones in the skull, particularly the sphenoid bone.  Most often, this technique is necessitated by a previous trauma to the head or neck. These sorts of traumas can often cause the nerves, bones, and muscles to go into a state of shock and stop functioning properly.

For more information, see our page on BNS.

Custom Orthotics

In order to meet the needs of patients and to get them to return to an active life style, Dr. Osborne became a certified provider of Sole Supports which is an orthopedic device. Sole Supports can be used to effectively treat many common problems such as low back pain, knee pain, shin splints, plantar faciitis, IT band syndrome, and many more.

A custom orthotic is an orthopedic device specifically built to aid or modify the way the foot strikes the ground. Some custom orthotics are simple, generically-made devices, such as cushioned or padded heel cups or insoles for shoes and can be purchased over the counter in drug stores or other sporting good stores. The pressure plates that are now gaining popularity in some retail establishments do not capture the three dimensional shape of the arch. Without this information, this “orthotic” is not truly custom device but rather a cushion to mask your symptoms, not treat the cause of your problem. Some of these are known as arch supports, memory foam innersoles, and heel protectors. These “orthotics” cannot be considered truly custom because they do not capture the three-dimensional aspects of your foot.

The whole world has heard of arch supports, custom insoles or orthotics. They are as common as sliced bread or canned soup. And most of them are fairly worthless.

Custom orthotics is crafted using a cast of the individual’s foot, which mimics any misalignment or oddities in foot structure. Using the cast and computer technology, technicians in an orthotic lab design a custom orthotic that balances out deformities and corrects misalignment. Dr. Osborne utilizes the latest bio-mechanical theory to fabricated Sole Supports.  Sole Supports help you avoid heel, knee, hip and back pain.

Impulse Technique

This is the cutting edge in technological advancements in chiropractic treatment. The Impulse Adjusting instrument offers highly effective light force adjustments without the “popping or clicking” of a manual adjustment. Safe and effective for all ages, the Impulse Adjusting Instrument is controlled by micro-computer circuitry housed within the device that produces a controlled force that chiropractors can use to treat different areas of the body.

The benefits of the Impulse Instrument are:

  1. Extreme speed. Impulse is twice as fast as other adjusting instruments and 100x faster than manual chiropractic adjustments. The gentle thrust is faster than the body’s tendency to tighten up and resist the adjustment.
  2. Controlled force. Impulse has three different force settings for different parts of the body and to treat patients of all ages. The controlled low force thrust of the Impulse make treatments comfortable.
  3. Frequency tuned waveform. Impulse is specifically tuned to the natural frequency of the body that joints, muscles and nerves respond to, optimizing results for patients.

Adjustments with the Impulse feel like a light tapping sensation on the area that is being treated. There is no popping or cracking with these adjustments, but rather very precise and targeted adjustments. This offers a fantastic option for those individuals that do not work well with manual techniques or if their condition contra-indicates the use of manual techniques. The Impulse instrument can be used for all areas of the body other chiropractic techniques work with.
